Common Misconceptions About CoQ10 & Fish Oil
A few customers have come in this week with some crazy information their doctors have been telling them.
One customer wanted fish oil for her joint pain. I explained that she needs fish oil high in EPA (see previous blog on fish oil). I went further and told her, for the best absorption, to make sure she takes it right before a meal that contains protein. She said, “oh no, my doctor said for joint pain the fish oil has to be taken on an empty stomach.” I told her that her doctor was WRONG!!!, and that taking fish oil on an empty stomach is a waste of money and fish oil. She took the product; let’s hope she does the right thing with it.
Another customer comes in to pick up some CoQ10. She tells me her doctor “said” she can take it. My comment to her: Wow, nice of your doctor to tell you it is okay to take something that is so beneficial to all of us.
Well, she said, my doctor said you have to worry about overdosing. Which I replied: On CoQ10??!!!
Maybe the doctor is scared she will have too much energy and her heart will be at peak performance and she won’t need him anymore. What a tragedy that would be.
